HEM is the first private non-profit art museum in China that focuses on Lingnan culture, initiated by a family. The museum is designed by Mr. Tadao Ando and planned by One-tenth. The theme of the project is “HARMONY|EAST|MIND”. Tradition and modernity, artifact and nature, purity and complexity are echoed and blended in the language of architecture. While inheriting the traditional culture of Lingnan, HEM builds a bridge between the locals and the world with architecture and art as a medium, providing a more diverse experience and imagination for the audience. HEM will better integrate art into the local community and create a new world-class cultural landmark in the heart of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
